In celebration of Earth Day in Aylmer (2025), a sugar maple tree was planted in Crystal Park. Taking inspiration from a presentation delivered to the Parks & Beautification Advisory Committee, the tree was planted using the Hugelkultur method - a method of growing that requires less watering and regular maintenance than other traditional tree planting methods. Special thanks to our Parks team and Council members, the EESS ELP team, and Chris Dancey for driving this year's tree-planting initiative.
