How will this project impact garbage/recycling collection?
Access for garbage/recycling collection will be maintained when possible. In the event there is a disruption, the Town will coordinate with the Contractor to pick up garbage (where you usually leave it) and move it to a pickup location. Please mark your municipal address on all your containers so they can be returned.
Where has the community mailbox been relocated during construction?
The existing community mailboxes will be temporarily relocated until restorations are complete. The mailboxes will be relocated when construction of the new sidewalk is complete. During Phase 1, the community mailbox has been moved to Victoria Street South, approaching the intersection of Pine Street East.
What trees will be removed to allow for reconstruction?
Trees that will be removed for the reconstruction project have been marked. Council's goal was to retain as many trees as possible during this project. If you have a concern about a tree on or near your property, please contact the Town.
How will water utility be billed during reconstruction?
Water billing will be averaged during the reconstruction project.
Will the sod that was dug up during reconstruction be replaced?
The Contractor will install and water new sod following the completion of reconstruction. It would be helpful if property owners also watered the sod during this time. After the 60-day sod warranty period, watering becomes the resident's responsibility as it was prior to construction.
