Elk Street Reconstruction Update: August 27, 2025

Work Complete to Date:

Phase 1

• Multi-Use pathway, sidewalk, curb and gutters have been installed.
• Residential driveways from property line to road have commenced and nearing completion.
• Landscape restoration is underway. Sod is being watered regularly, additional watering is always encouraged by residents.

Phase 2

• Temporary water line installation is complete and operational.
• Installation of the Sanitary line is now complete.
• Installation of the new waterline is now underway.

Work Scheduled for the Next Weeks:

Phase 1

• Restoration of landscape areas.

Phase 2

• Continuing with installation of the new waterline and commissioning.
• Being installation of the new storm line.
• Prep road base for curb and asphalt.

Road Closures and Access:

• Elk Street will be closed to through traffic during construction, but open to local traffic.
• Driveway access may be interrupted periodically during construction. Notification will be provided in advance of any prolonged driveway access disruptions.

Phase 1

• Local residence East of work area, access from Talbot Street
• Local residence West of work area, access from Victoria Street

Phase 2

• Local residence East of work area, access from Victoria Street
• Local residence West of work area, access from John St. S.

• Your safety is very important to us. Please respect the work zone.
• Please use caution when using the street or sidewalks near the construction limits.
• Maintain a safe distance from any moving equipment, stockpiles or trenches.
