Presentation of the Old Town Hall Advisory Committee's End of Term Report

Mike Sereda, Chair of the Old Town Hall Advisory Committee, will present the Committee's end of term report at the June 17th, 2026 regular meeting of Council. The report summarizes the accomplishments of the Committee during their term which includes but is not limited to:

  • Supporting theatre programming, rentals, special events, and volunteer and community engagement with the Community Recreation & Culture Programmer
  • Transitioning to an online booking platform allowing clients to schedule events, sign rental contracts digitally, and pay fees.
  • Review of the facility's projection system and exploring opportunities to support film screenings.
  • Developing pre-set layouts for the venue.
  • HVAC upgrades, new fridge, conversion of washrooms.
  • Review of user fees.
  • Adoption of a low-risk rental insurance policy available to renters.
  • Communicating with prospective vendors and clients.
  • Creating a social media presence for the facility.
  • Development of rental information packages and promotional materials.
  • Inventory of light and sound equipment.
