How do I vote?

For the 2026 Town of Aylmer Municipal Election, you can vote:

In person at the Voter Help Centre

What do I need to vote?

Your Voter Information Letter will contain your unique Personal Identification Number (PIN), which you will need to cast your vote. You will also need to enter your full date of birth.

When will I receive my Voter Information Letter?

Watch your mailbox in early October. Your letter will include your unique voting PIN and instructions for voting. If you do not receive your Voter Information Letter by October 16, please visit the Voter Help Centre during the voting period with an eligible piece of identification showing your name and address. If you are an eligible elector, staff can confirm your information and issue you a Voter Information Letter in person, including the PIN you need to vote.

Received a Voter Information Letter for someone else not at your address?

Please mark the envelope as 'Moved' or 'Unknown' and place it back in the mail to be returned to Town Hall.

When do I vote?

Voting opens at 8:00 AM on October 19 and closes at 8:00 PM on October 26. Online and telephone voting are available at any time during the voting period.

Am I registered to vote?

Visit vreg.registertovoteon.ca to check your information on the voters list. Please visit with an eligible piece of identification Town Hall if you need to make changes to your information.

Who can vote?

You can vote if you are:

A Canadian citizen;
At least 18 years old on election day; and,
Living in Aylmer, or own or rent property here, or are the spouse of an owner or tenant in Aylmer

You cannot vote if you are:

A person who is serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution;
A person acting as executor or trustee in any other representative capacity, except as a voting proxy in accordance with section 44; and/or,
A person who was convicted of the corrupt practice described in subsection 90(3), if voting day in the current election is less than five years after voting day in the election in respect of which he or she was convicted.
